A report has just been released regarding the 2013 espionage operation on 75 airports. Of the 75 airports, the APT was able to successfully hack only two airport systems. The hackers sent spear-phishing emails with the infected malware, however many of the emails sent were not opened which is why many of the 75 airports escaped the attempted breach. Once the attack was discovered in four airports, a warning was dispatched to all other airports explaining the hallmarks of the campaign. The two airport computer systems have been disinfected.
