The US has acknowledged that Iran is rapidly building cyber offensive capabilities following the Stuxnet and Flame attacks against it. Iran has since attacked the US banking system, Saudi Arabia’s Aramco and Qatar’s RasGas (natural gas joint venture). This growing cyber power will further complicate relations in the Gulf. Qatar’s opportunistic behavior often conflicts with Iranian interests, which may lead to further attacks against Qatar like the one against RasGas.
